[FILM & TELEVISION] Monty Python will never re-unite...

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds38031.html

Eric Idle says he will not be reuniting with his Monty Python co-stars any time soon.

Despite attempts by Michael Palin, the Spamalot star is not interested in getting together again to record new Python material.

According to BreakingNews.ie, Idle said: "All this talk about, 'You guys should get back together,' is a complete load of b**locks. And let's not forget, when we were together, there were lots of people who f**king hated us."

Oh well, enjoy this video of South Park ripping off Monty Python...

[TV]New TV Shows Round Up.

4 new TV shows caught my interest. If I didn't have a Tivo I wouldn't be able to find the time since I have a job that often requires me to work evenings and I just don't have the bandwidth to download a buncha stuff I don't even know if I like.

Strangely, 3 of the shows are on NBC. Studio 60, 30 Rock and 20 Good Years. Also strangely, The shows all have numbers in the names. Kind of reminds me of a time in the late 90's when every band had numbers in the name, Blink 182, SR71, and Project 86 come to mind. So, with out further adieu...

Freak Show. David Cross shares writing credits with a guy who has acted in the movie "New york minute". The show is pretty funny for a first episode and will offend the PC. It has some potty humor but also has some smart jokes so it all kind of evens out. David Cross does several voices and I think a guy who the voice for Coach Mcgirk from home movies does as a well. All in all worth checking out.

I couldn't find a video for freak show.

Studio 60. It's made by Aaron Sorkin who was responsible for "The West Wing". It is a drama about producing a comedy show. The writers have been spot on with some good plot twists in the first 30 episodes and I think the moments seem well scripted and believable. It gets better every episode so this one also gets my recomendation.

30 Rock. Is Tina Fey's new show about a sketch comedy show as well, this one is more about being funny. I have only seen the pilot and was a lil disappointed. It's not that is wasn't funny, it just could have had way more funnies. I do see alot of potential in it. I'll wait for a few more episodes with this one.

20 Good Years. Features John Lithgow(No references needed) and Jeffery Tambor(Arrested Development) and was also a little bit disappointing. The writers are basically unheard of the jokes were ok. 1 particularly funny moment featured John Lithgow in a tiny bathing suit. I dunno, maybe I just hate situation comedies. I will say that it's better than 90 of what's on television so I'll give it a chance.

[FILM]Halle Berry Is White. (video is NSFW)

Halle Berry is going to play a white girl and it's stirring up controversy. She is going to be in soe movie that comes out in 2008 called "class act". It's about a teacher in reno who runs for office at the urging of her 6th grade students on the condition that the kids run her campaign.

3. Open Season, $16 million.

4. Employee of the Month, $11.8 million.

5. The Guardian, $9.6 million.

6. Jackass Number Two, $6.4 million.

7. School for Scoundrels, $3.4 million.

8. Gridiron Gang, $2.3 million.

9. Jet Li's Fearless, $2.2 million.

10. The Illusionist, $1.8 million.

[MUSIC]Slayer's New Album Banned In India

http://www.punknews.org/article/20195

Slayer banned in India

Slayer's new album, Christ Illusion continues to cause controversy worldwide. The album was recently banned in India. The ban is particularly interesting since Christians are a minority in India, which is largely made up of Hindus, Muslims and Buddhist.

Early this week, Joseph Dias, general secretary of the Mumbai-based Catholic Secular Forum (CSF), issued a statement taking "strong exception" to the album's cover artwork, which he said depicts "Christ with a missing eye and amputated arms." He added, "we also condemn the track, 'Skeleton Christ' as the lyrics are an insult to Christianity." The CSF also sent a memorandum to Mumbai's police commissioner, adding that the album "will affect the sensibilities of the Muslims on the track 'Jihad' and secular Indians who have respect for all faiths."

Kaveri Khullar, marketing manager, EMI India said in an interview, "We met with the CSF and were apologetic while assuring them that all copies of the album would be pulled out. We have no plans of re-issuing it in any way."

The CSF had earlier protested against the Indian release of "The Da Vinci Code" which led the Censor Board to instruct the India distributor, Mumbai-based Sony Pictures Releasing India, to include a notice to accompany the film to explain that it was a work of fiction.

The band's previous album, God Hates Us All was released in the United States with an altered cover, and Christ Illusion appears on Amazon with the cover art obscured.

I personally think this whole thing is quite funny.

[MUSIC] The Coup's video for "Me and Jesus The Pimp"

Not to be nitpicky or anything but shouldn't it be "Jesus the Pimp and I"? Anyways, what an awesome vid. I don't like performance vids and this one is not. Just check it.

[MUSIC] Champion too release a dvd of their final show.

Champion was a really awesome hardcore band from seattle. Very traditional sounding and super damn good and very positive. While hardcore may not be very technical compared to metal, I find that metal is often very negative with their lyrics and it's nice to hear uplifting music with high energy.

Apparently they have a dvd of their last show coming out, you know I'll be copping it.

[MUSIC] The Dischord of a Forgotten Sketch

I heard about this Canadian band called "the discord of a forgotten sketch" from punknews.org. Normally I don't normally look into new new bands so this was an anomaly for me. I decided to give them a try and wen to their record labels myspace page and gave them a listen and was pleasantly surprised to heard some good noisy math rock. If you like good noisy math rock I strongly suggest you check them.

http://www.thediscordofaforgottensketch.com is their trippy ass website, it's kinda hard finding the links but I guess that is half the fun.

[MUSIC] Raekwon Signs to Aftermath, Nas and Jay-Z goto Africa.

2 strange things in the world of hip-hop today, first raekwon signs to aftermath records and half of the album is being produced by dre. Weird. RZA is also doing production duties as well but this really threw me for a loop.

But the thing that really threw me for a loop is this whole Nas Jay-Z thing. I thought they hated eachother???

[MUSIC]Converge Previews!!!!

Converge has posted a highlights track from their new album "no heroes". I saw them about a week or 2 ago and they played 3 new songs from the new album and they sounded like a mix between Jane doe and You fail me. Jake Bannon looks amazing in person. After the show was over there was a guy handing out converge stickers and he actually gave one to the bassist. Twas funny to see.

[FILM] Hayao Miyazaki and Jackass 2

In hopes that you get excited thinking there may be some sort of connection between the Japanese director and Knoxville and company, sorry there isn't, I just didn't wanna make 2 seperate posts if I don't have to. So on with the news.

Miyazaki is at it again. I hope for the return of the catbus.

In other news, some theater owner in Iowa decided to censor the marquee for the movie jackass.

[MUSIC]Weezer files a lawsuit against Miller Brewing company.

I used to looooooove weezer when I was in middle school. The Blue album and Pinkerton rocked my world and loved them for it. OF course we all know what happened and how much they began to suck like no other. I blame television and video games.

Well it appears that weezer is pissed off at miller brewing because they used them in some ads and associated them with some bands they don't like. Oh yeah, did I mention it caused millions in damages? Yeah, sure.

Here is a copy of the lawsuit in pdf format. It's really boring. To make up for that, here is a fan video don in mspaint...

UPDATE!!!!!:I found out some of the bands they don't wosh to be associated with...

Audioslave (who also sued), Velvet Revolver, Puddle of Mudd, Trapt and Bon Jovi. I guess I don't blame them

[SOCIAL]The Blog of Francis Bean(Kurt Cobains Daughter)

Well I heard on a message board that Francis Bean had a blog so after a lil bot of cyber-sleuthing I found it at francis-bean.com. She writes about normal teenager stuff and says she wouldn't want to get into music but would love to direct a movie. 14 years old, god I feel old. Here is a photo of her now.
